Milan grew up in Kucevo, a small town in Eastern Serbia, where he learned to embrace simplicity while at the same time nurturing his desire for constant change and self-development.
His natural curiosity led him away from his home town at an early age, he decided to become independent, supporting his way by working as a graphic designer. He did not persevere long as too often clients’ desires conflicted with his views on aesthetics. This led him to (re)discover new interests- photography seemed to be a love at first sight.
A hobby at first, he started flowing into professional waters through stock photography. At the same time, with a fellow photographer, he began working on wedding journalism, a concept which was still relatively unknown in Serbia. The two of them started the wedding-photo.rs website and brought wedding journalism to a new level. Having worked parallel on the two projects for several years his need for change led him to pack-up and travel to Asia for a year, gaining new experiences and inspiration.
Upon his return he began working for Three Dots Studio as an assistant, photographer and retoucher. Working side by side with excellent photographers he mastered the art of studio lighting and gained other skills in technical issues related to studio work. For a long time he did retouching through freelance websites and stock photography, building his portfolio and paving his way to the stock photo market.
During this time he was working closely with marketing agencies on event photography and product photography. His client list includes:
- Executive group
- Vip mobile srbija
- Personal Jewelry shop – Hotel Hyatt Regency
- Ines atelier
- H&M Serbia
- Calsberg Serbia
- BASF Serbia
Milan’s work focuses mainly on two very opposing aspects – static and dynamic. On the one hand he works with high-end jewellery as a form of static photography, to capture the motionless perfection of each piece(www.milanilic.com/portfolio-jewellery/). On the other hand there is the active counterpart – dynamic wedding journalism which takes him each time on a journey to discover the perfect place, scene, background to make that perfect shot for each couple(www.wedding.milanilic.com).
Currently, his primary project is to get the Paleta Studio up and running(www.paletastudio.com). As the co-founder, he strives to make it a one-of-a-kind photo studio in Serbia.
His future plans are orientated towards redirecting his energy back to stock photography, a concept that would go hand in hand with his passion for travelling and love for motorbikes.
And, for the end, list of very recent project he is proud of:
